The MUGA at Slyne with Hest Recreation Field has recently be completed and consists of an all weather pitch with markings for 5-a-side football, netball and basketball as well as floodlights for use on darker evenings.

Booking to enable sports groups to hire the facility for one off use or regular weekly use is now open. Terms and Conditions and booking fees can be found below. You can pay by card via our bookings page.

General Terms and Conditions of Use

1. MUGA purpose

1.1. The Slyne with Hest Parish Council (‘SWHPC’) Multi-Use Games Area (‘MUGA’) is available for rent to sports teams/clubs from both within and outside the village of Slyne with Hest as well as being open for general use to the public on a non-bookable casual basis;

1.2 SWHPC wishes to ensure that the MUGA is available predominantly on a free of charge basis for use by local residents whilst enabling the MUGA to be used for a proportion of time by teams/clubs on a bookable basis. All team/club booking requests must be submitted through our official booking system (see www.slynewithhest.org/muga) or by contacting SWHPC office directly;

1.3 The MUGA is not locked and is available to be freely used by the public, however, should SWHPC consider that this facility is being abused, lockable gates may be installed and an entry system applied.

2. Gum Chewing and Footwear

2.1. Chewing gum is strictly prohibited within the MUGA premises for both the safety of users and to keep the facility clean and tidy;

2.2. Only non-marking sports footwear is allowed on the MUGA surface. Football studs/spikes are strictly prohibited to prevent damage to the playing surface.

3. General Rules and Regulations

3.1. The MUGA premises must be used solely for sports and recreational activities;

3.2. All participants and spectators must adhere to the rules and guidelines provided by SWHPC;

3.3. Smoking, alcohol, and illegal substances are strictly prohibited on the MUGA premises;

3.4. Users are responsible for their own belongings. SWHPC is not liable for any lost, stolen or damaged items;

3.5 Floodlighting is provided for use during non-daylight hours. Details for how to use the floodlighting can be found at www.slynewithhest.org/muga;

3.6 In the event of any intentional/criminal damage occurring to the MUGA the police will be informed and asked to investigate.  

3.7 Teams/clubs who have booked the MUGA reserve the right to politely ask any members of the public using the MUGA to leave in order that the club/team may use the facility as per their booking. Members of the public are expected to leave the MUGA premises in a timely manner to allow the club/team sole use of the facility for their allotted booking time.

4. Liability

4.1. Use of the MUGA facilities is at the user’s own risk. SWHPC is not responsible for any injuries, accidents, or damage that may occur during the use of the facilities;

4.2 Parents/Guardians are responsible for any under 18’s using the MUGA and should supervise children in accordance with their age/ability.

4.3 Users and/or parents/guardians are responsible for any damage caused to the MUGA premises or equipment during use.  Should damage occur users and/or their parents/guardians will be liable for repair or replacement costs;

4.5. SWHPC makes no provision for supervision or first aid at the MUGA premises; this is solely the responsibility of the user and/or parents/guardians.

Terms and Conditions of Use and Booking for Teams and Clubs

1. Booking Process

1.1. The Slyne with Hest Parish Council (‘SWHPC’) Multi-Use Games Area (‘MUGA’) is available for rent to sports teams/clubs from both within and outside the village of Slyne with Hest as well as being open for general use to the public on a non-bookable casual basis;

1.2. All team/club booking requests must be submitted through our official booking system (see www.slynewithhest.org/muga) or by contacting SWHPC office directly;

1.3. Bookings are subject to availability and will be confirmed upon receipt of full payment;

1.4 The person making the booking shall be deemed to be the Hirer and will be responsible for payment of all fees payable in respect of the hire. Upon booking and using the MUGA the Hirer enters into a contract with SWHPC;

1.5 The MUGA may not be used until booked and payment in full has been received by SWHPC;

1.6 Bookings and availability can be viewed at www.slynewithhest.org/muga

2. Rental rates and periods

2.1. The rental fee for the MUGA is £16.50 per hour for teams from outside Slyne with Hest village;

2.2. Teams from Slyne with Hest village are eligible for a 25% discount on the rental fee, paying £12 per hour;

2.3 SWHPC may at its own discretion allow local groups for example Scouts/Guides/School to book the MUGA free of charge;

2.4 SWHPC reserves the right to review and increase hire fees at any time and will endeavour to provide reasonable notice to Hirers of any hire fee increase. There is not currently a surcharge for use of floodlighting by clubs however SWHPC reserves the right to introduce such in the future should it consider it necessary to do so.

3. Payment

3.1. Payment for the MUGA rental must be made in full at the time of booking;

3.2. Payment can be made through our online booking system using a valid credit/debit card.

6. Cancellation and Refund Policy

6.1. Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the booked slot will receive a full refund;

6.2. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the booked slot will not be eligible for a refund;

6.3. In case of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, SWHPC reserves the right to cancel or reschedule bookings;

6.4 SWHPC reserves the right to cancel or refuse any bookings from any group or team who have not complied with the Terms and Conditions of booking and/or General Rules and Regulations.

7. Liability

7.1. Participants and teams use the MUGA facilities at their own risk. SWHPC is not responsible for any injuries, accidents, or damage that may occur during the use of the facilities;

7.2. Users are responsible for any damage caused to the MUGA premises or equipment during their rental period and will be liable for repair or replacement costs;

7.3 It is the responsibility of team managers/organisers to ensure that their own team risk assessment has been completed and that where applicable, safeguarding policies are in place and adhered to;

7.4. SWHPC makes no provision for supervision or first aid at the MUGA premises; this is solely the responsibility of team managers/organisers.

By proceeding with the booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by the above terms and conditions set forth by Slyne with Hest Parish Council. Failure to comply with these terms may result in the termination of the booking and future access to the MUGA facilities. For any inquiries or concerns, please contact the Parish Council office.
